Steel rounds, which form the design motif of the backrest, are fixed to the structure: these rounds are welded by spraying, according to a process which allows a technically cleaner fusion of the rounds, with a better finished aesthetic effect and therefore a lower risk of rust. The stretched sheet metal of the seat is hot-dip galvanized, for high resistance outside, and is also spray welded to the structure. As with all EMU steel products, cataphoresis pretreatment and the subsequent application of a thermosetting powder coating are planned; the product is thus coated with a layer of paint of uniform thickness, with a high degree of adhesion and resistance. Nylon caps at the ends of the feet makes it easier to protect the product and to move it.

RIO R50 is characterized by a steel tube structure ASFORM , a high quality steel with high mechanical capacities and great resistance to weight. The special feature of the steel tube is the very visible "R" in the area between the seat and the backrest. All welds of the structure are made with Ming technology, which guarantees greater durability and reduces the risk of rust, while for greater precision, the trellis in round steel is electro-welded to the structure.
