Armchairs

The Carousel collection, designed by Sebastian Herkner, consists of a small armchair and a lounge chair. The structure, made of oval aluminum tube and sheet metal, can be assembled with a shell in different materials: an innovative fabric in polyester fiber Fiber Fill with modulated density and woven from different materials. The characteristic element that defines the design of the product is a three-dimensional enveloping aluminum armrest. The seat and backrest are connected to the structure by means of stainless steel screws.

The use of polyamide allows us to minimize the cross section of its feet without sacrificing the texture of a structurally solid armchair. This synthesis process makes it possible to obtain a chair which justifies all the materials used. The straight composition of its shape is only determined by its seat and its ergonomically shaped backrest. This strict guideline makes VELA a chair with optimal structural stability, excellent for use in commercial spaces.

Steel rounds, which form the design motif of the backrest, are fixed to the structure: these rounds are welded by spraying, according to a process which allows a technically cleaner fusion of the rounds, with a better finished aesthetic effect and therefore a lower risk of rust. The stretched sheet metal of the seat is hot-dip galvanized, for high resistance outside, and is also spray welded to the structure. As with all EMU steel products, cataphoresis pretreatment and the subsequent application of a thermosetting powder coating are planned; the product is thus coated with a layer of paint of uniform thickness, with a high degree of adhesion and resistance. Nylon caps at the ends of the feet makes it easier to protect the product and to move it.
